    The Baby Steps Show is a philanthropic stepshow held during Parent & Family Weekend featuring the entire UT Arlington Greek community. The 2010 show will be held on October 24, 2010 in the Rosebud Theatre, E.H. Hereford University Center. Teams (i.e. no more than 21 people/team) composed of members from IFC, MGC, PHC, and NPHC compete for a cash prize to be awarded to a local philanthropy of their choice. Sororities step with sororities and fraternities with fraternities. All proceeds from the show must benefit local Arlington philanthropies.

     

    Each team must perform and be judged on the seven (7) items listed below. Shows should last no longer than eight (8) minutes from the first step to the end of the show. Faculty/staff members and alumni/ae will serve as judges for the show. There is no entry fee for this event.

     

    • Stroll/Strut On- Each team must find an exciting, interesting, and creative way to get onto the stage. (Time begins with the first step a team performs)
    • General Step- All teams will perform this step during their show. Teams may cater the step in their performance as they see fit. The more creative this step, the better.
    • Traditional Step- The NPHC Coach Chapter will teach their team a step from their organization/chapter to perform during their show.
    • Theme/Skit- Each team must incorporate a skit into their show. The more people a team involves in the skit, the better
    • Costume
    • Crowd Response
    • Stroll/Strut Off- Each team must find an exciting, interesting, and creative way to exit the stage. (Time ends once last person leaves the stage)

     

    The Baby Steps Show will be held in the Rosebud Theatre.  Tickets for the event will be $5.00 for Greek students and $10.00 for non-Greek students.  All performers in the event will be given free admittance.  Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.  First prize will be awarded a minimum prize of $500.00, second prize a minimum prize of $400.00, and third prize a minimum prize of $300.00.  The more tickets we sell for this event and the more the Greek community aids in promoting this event the higher the prize money will be for the winning teams.

  • BABY STEPS APPLICATION

     

    UT Arlington is proud to present the 2nd Annual  Baby Steps Step Show. This show will pair men and women from the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and Multi-Cultural Council with a group from National Pan-Hellenic Council to create a step show. This application is for IFC, PHC, and MGC groups who do not traditionally step. Please submit this application to the Greek Life office by Friday, September 3rd, 2010 by 5 p.m.
